The 'Atom' in Atom Timing
Accurate timing is fundamental to any sports timing system. We use the GPS satellites 'Atomic Clock' to synchronise our timing stations.
The Atom Timing App transfers this GPS Time to the Timing Station via Bluetooth. Anyone who has the App open and is within Bluetooth range of a Timing Station can potentially synchronise it. If the Timing Station is in a location that does not have a GPS signal it can use the running GPS time on the phone from when it last had a GPS signal.
Timely Results 'for the people by the people'
Anyone who has the Atom Timing App open and is within Bluetooth range of a Timing Station can help upload results to the cloud via their mobile network. The collective results are sent back to maintain an up-to-date results leaderboard for all to see.
If there is no cell phone coverage in the vicinity of the Timing Station the app will hold onto the data until a connection is made to the network. The requisition to upload data is done automatically and seamlessly in the background.
